Piazzolla tango show in Buenos Aires: Around 1915, a year before the premiere of La Cumparsita, Buenos Aires saw the creation of this marvelous place, the art nouveau basement of the Galería General Güemes; three thousand square meters now dedicated to tango and the arts of the city. The building that contains it marked a stage in the growth of Buenos Aires. For a long time it was the highest man-made point in the country. The lighted lighthouse in its 87-meter-high dome served as a reference for vessels on the Río de la Plata. The curious waited their turn and paid twenty cents to go up to the lookout point with telescope and contemplate from there the growth of the capital. Its architect, the Italian (from Turin) Francisco Gianotti (*), called the best builders and craftsmen and used the most luxurious materials of the time to build this palace that still amazes us and houses PIAZZOLLA TANGO SHOW, Center of Art and Shows.
